Jonathan Franzen and David Wallace
I took some pills before bed. I was thinking about reading something and write to Desmond. One of the things he’s best at, is that he kept his promises, and when he says yes, it’s a defnite yes. When he says no, it’s a definite no. He said he could help me, so I am going to write some drafts for him to revise.
I replied to Jolien’s letter. And I called Neil about debugging and coding. I need him. His presence and voice calmed me down. “No one ever knows anything, it’s completely normal that you don’t know this. You’re a novel. Just concentrate on yourself and it’ll turn out right. ” And then he gave me some instructions on Databases and some IT industrial technologies. I hung up the phone, and felt relieved. That that’s a will, there’s a way.
Evan and I are meeting at the Starbucks downtown on Thursday evening. He’s got his plan to Paris and prepare his portfolio, I wanted to share my roadmap about going to MIT as well.
So I need to take IELTS tests first. Let’s read something in English. I browse through my bookshelf. The books are well organized by the authors — — Jonathan Franzen, Simone de Beauvoir, Marylenne Robinson, David Wallace……etc.
Hold on, David Wallace, the book “Both Flesh and not” suddenly stood out among the others. I picked it up. The name rings a bell. I think I know him, his name was mentioned by Jonathan Franzen many times. His name, fame, and suicide. They were good friends.
Oh that’s him. I just happened to grab this book at the Frankfurt train station, and chances are — — -the books themselves will send out signals to you, because they like you. So you picked them up. And you like his poses, his way of thinking.
5 years after you read the book, you now realized that this is the book written by the very “David Foster Wallace, ” Jonathan’s good friend. Oh you. No wonder you like both their work so much.
Right, baby girl. You go to sleep, and tomorrow le’ts do something interesting. I love you.
