When we were young

When we were young, there were three things we needed to decide: Where to live, who to be with, what to do. Because where to live influences who we might meet, and who we might meet influences what we do.

But mostly, we just dived into work and life and never thought about it.

So I spent most of my twenties searching for where to live. And my final decision is Leuven/Brussels/Barcelona.

About who to be with, I just began searching. Sometimes I felt that was a need being created by industry, so that there would be many romantic holidays that people spend money on……etc. But in the end, I think having a companion, not merely sexually, is a good idea. But it depends on what issues you want to deal with — — -being single has its issue, and being with someone has another issues.

I get heartbroken because I have a crush on someone, and yet I am about to move to another place…….this is like a never-ending scenario. You both think you could persuade the others to move to your city, but no. You don’t, and he doesn’t. And you lose contact.

So I’d say, I will try dating someone sometime. But I’ve leveraged the bar so high that I never dated anyone, which surprised many. Because being with myself isn’t that bad. I enjoy it.

For what to do — — — -This is a beginning as well. I studied physics, and I have loved technology, but as I read literature, sometimes I thought we should reframe the questions. The questions like “hey, do we really need this”? Because the compromise of technology is always happening. And I started, finally, to think about it. That influences deeply on my career choice.
